How can I even start to describe how Briceland Funeral Home is the funeral home to choose when losing a loved one?
Because my mom died unexpectedly, she had an autopsy. We were so concerned that she was alone that Dan kept us informed as to where she was. Dan called us as soon as he picked her up saying, “She’s with me, I’m taking her home.” At that moment, my sister and I felt immediately at ease.
If you are on the fence about a funeral home, don’t be. Dan will take your loved one home. They will be in great presence, feeling love and kindness throughout a very difficult time.
Thanks Dan Briceland, you are an honorable man. Thanks for taking such good care of my mom.
The first meeting: Dan greeted us at his very warm funeral home. He walked us through all of the specifics of the viewing and funeral outlining every single last detail. NOTHING was left uncertain nor unanswered. He placed calls to our mom’s churches, he asked questions about her so that her viewing and funeral was about HER. Absolutely no little detail was left out of the discussion. He covered everything.
The initial phone call: Dan Briceland, the owner, answered our call. We did not have to leave a message. He works 24/7 and he answers all calls that come into his funeral home. My sister and I could both hear in his voice that he was genuinely sorry for our loss. We scheduled a time to meet with him to discuss the specifics and initially hung up knowing that we were sure he would be the gentleman to help us through the process.

We’ve never buried a parent, sibling, friend or neighbor. Having no experience nor insight into the process, our aunt recommended Briceland over a larger company that buried my uncle, my aunt’s husband.
The funeral was perfect, as much as a funeral can be. Dan and his team where there throughout the entire process. Everything was perfect-the music, the church, the folding of the flag all of it was thoughtfully put together as if it had been planned years in advance. (On a lighter note, the flag was supposed to go to the oldest child, but the second oldest got it because he was mistaken for the oldest. Needless to say, we kid our brother for losing too much hair over the years.)
The viewing and funeral: The viewing was hard of course. I’ll spare the details because it’s my mom and it’s private. The procession helped soften the blow between the viewing and funeral. My mom’s casket was draped in an American flag which was hard to watch as we followed her car. However, we were proud that she served her country—the only female on both sides of our family to do so.
About Dan: He is truly gifted. He was born to be a funeral director and excelled at every single aspect of burring a loved one. He is a gift from God and quite honestly is the best person in his profession to guide you through a difficult process.
Let me start here: My family lost our mom. It was unexpected. We were all in shock because it was so sudden.
In our large family, we have had zero experience in losing a close family member. We have never had to work with a funeral home in our lifetimes.
